Thanks for downloading FractalTiler. This software is freeware. It's not supposed to be user-friendly because I wrote it for myself. I'm releasing it into the public domain due to requests from users on reddit.

Quick manual:

Deep zooming is not supported because this is not fractal exploration software; there are plenty of apps that do this already. Rather, this software is for viewing and animating fractal sets as a whole with various images wrapped around them. Zooming is single precision only.

By default, the first few textures are automatically loaded from the "data" folder and placed into the thumbnail preview texture slots at the top of the screen. Click on a texture to use it. You can add your own textures by clicking "load texture" on the bottom right of the control panel. Whatever image you load will replace the image in the current texture slot. Images should have a 2x1 or 4x1 aspect ratio. Point with the mouse where you want to zoom and use the mouse scroll wheel to zoom in. All the variables in the control panel on the right are clickable if you want to enter numbers with the keyboard.

Animations: To make a movie, select that option from the drop down menu at the top left (not the Apple menu but the "File" menu in FractalTiler's window) and enter the info it asks for. After that you will be asked for two files. Select a start parameter file and an end parameter file. FractalTiler will create a zoom / morph between the two parameter files and save the movie in the same folder as FractalTiler.

Making your own textures: The bottom of the texture image has to be half the scale of the top of the image so that it tiles seamlessly. That's why all the texture images appear to be expanding upwards. The purpose of a cap image is to "cap" the outer edge of the fractal so that it doesn't end abruptly when the lowest iteration band is rendered. If no cap file exists, the original image will be used. You can create your own cap files, just make sure they have exactly the same filename as the main texture but with "cap" at the end. In a cap image, the left half of the image should be a copy of the right half.

End User License Agreement and other legal mumbo jumbo: I’ve made efforts to ensure my software is bug-free and works well, but no guarantees are expressed or implied. Use at your own risk. You have unlimited distribution rights. In fact, distribution is encouraged. Basically you can do anything you want with my code provided it doesn't put me at risk legally, financially, emotionally, karmically, or any other way. The only thing I ask is that if you use my code in one of your own creations, please mention me in the credits and maybe include a link to my website. Also, if you modify the source, make this known if you distribute it. Thank You.
